Ancestral Forest
Duration: 4 days / 3 nights
Physical Demand: Demanding

Description: Further than La Junta (5-6 hours) is the Arco (arch). Its name comes from the fact that a waterfall flows down natural stones shaped as an arch.

On the top of it a young Alerce holds court among the old ones.

The Alerce is a protected specie, they are one of the biggest and oldest (more than 3.000 years old) trees in the world.

In this area you will be able to fish, to discover another impressive waterfall after a 40min trek and to watch the stars in the darkness of the native forest.

The public refuge was built in 2001 by Favián, his father and a friend of them. In the middle of the "fogón" (fire place), we will get warm and cook like the real gauchos!
